Understanding Vision
“And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:”
Acts 2:17
We are in the last days! And God is pouring His Spirit or grace upon us to see visions and to dream dreams. Until we understand the concept of Vision, we may not take advantage of it. There are two types of vision:
1. Vision from God
2. Vision from your mind
In the visions from God, we have direct encounters with God. God Himself chooses to speak to us in visions of the night. The Bible says, “And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I.”
Genesis 46:2
Visions from God used to be the exclusive preserve of God’s chosen vessels such as prophets. The Bible says, “And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.
Numbers 12:6
But these last days, God is speaking to many people by visions and dreams. You can covet earnestly the unction of the Holy Spirit to see the deep things of God.
Visions from the mind realm on the other hand is open to everyone. And this is because everyone is endowed with a powerful machine called the MIND! We can all tap into the power of the mind. Do you know that your mind has eyes? With the mind, you can conceptualize, imagine or see what is possible in people, in nations, in business or ministry. With your mind, you can visualise or see possibilities!
Vision of the mind is about having a long-term perspective! The Bible says,
“Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.”
Colossians 3:2 ESV
With your mind, you can capture the future realities that are not open to everybody. With your mind, you can anticipate change and plan for it. Most of our leaders lack Vision, as they have this tendency to live in the present and forget the future. See how they have failed to plan for the succeeding generation. Our leaders are not anticipating the future! A man who does not anticipate the future is a visionless person, as such, he cannot engage in strategic thinking or planning.
Vision is about thinking big!
Do you always think big?
Vision is about thinking new things! Do you always think new things?
Vision is about thinking ahead!
Do you always think ahead?
I decree and declare that you will become a visionary person! I pray that you will be empowered to think outside the box in Jesus mighty name.
Yours sincerely,
