Lessons from my QuietTime:
Understanding the Power of God
“And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,”
Ephesians 1:19-20
The power of God exceeds or surpasses everything—it is unimaginable power. The power God brought this world and all creation into existence. And this same power raised Jesus from the dead! Glory to God!
Apostle Paul’s greatest desire and prayer was for us to understand the incredible greatness of God’s power. He wanted us to understand the mighty power of God which did the incredible job of raising Christ from the dead and seated Him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. This same power placed our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ far above any ruler or authority or human power. God by His power has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made Him head over all things for the benefit of the church. What a privilege to be a believer! As a true believer, you can tap into the power of God via Christ! Even as Christ is the power of God personified! The Bible says, “But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.”
1 Corinthians 1:24
Now let’s consider 3 examples of God’s power in action:
1. Salvation
We are saved by the power of God!
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
Romans 1:16
2. Living
We live by the power of God!
“For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you.”
2 Corinthians 13:4
3. Keeping
We are kept by the power of God!
“Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”
1 Peter 1:5
This month and beyond, I decree that you may engage the power of God for your advancement and breakthroughs in Jesus mighty name.
Yours sincerely,
Joe Jesimiel Ogbe
