The Force of Inspiration
“But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.”
One force that has added value and still adding value to humanity is the force of inspiration. Every creativity is a function of inspiration!
What is Inspiration?
Inspiration is the process of being spiritually and mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially to do something creative! As an author I cannot overstress the importance of Inspiration. Every writer knows the value of an inspirational spark from the heavens! No doubt, many of us have been inspired at one time or the other. Have you seen or heard something that causes you to have exciting new ideas or makes you want to create something? That’s inspiration! Have you read the Bible or anointed books and felt compelled or stimulated to do something? That’s inspiration! For instance, my work with young people today is a function of inspiration I received from Matthew 18:14. This passage inspired me to join hands with God to stop young people from perishing. Also my church ministry started when I was inspired on my way back from a mission outreach. My life is replete with different shades and sizes of God-inspired ideas of which I’m eternally grateful to Him. Do you want to be inspired to do something great and outstanding? If yes, then do the following:
1. Partner with the Holy Spirit!
Inspirations come from the Spirit of God. People who treasure the ministry of the Holy Spirit are usually inspired with fresh thoughts and ideas. I have heard testimonies of how some brethren were inspired to do one thing or the other while praying or worshipping God. The Bible says, “As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.”
2. Read Bible and other books!
In 2 Timothy 3:16, Apostle Paul tells us that, “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.” The Bible is a compendium of divine ideas. Read and study it with a view to finding inspiration for your daily living. Daniel and Apostle Paul placed so much value on books. While reading books or magazines, you may find an idea or even a sentence that could spark a useful inspiration for you. Bill Gates was inspired to come up with smaller computers while reading a magazine. Microsoft is a product of that inspiration.
3. Embrace a lifestyle of exposure!
Don’t be stuck in your environment, location or daily routine! You can be inspired by visiting exciting places or cities of the world. Do try to change your daily routine, and by so doing you might trigger fresh ideas. But it is
not enough to be inspired. You too must become an agent of Inspiration to others. You can do this by being a son or daughter of consolation in the order of Barnabas. Barnabas was an inspiration to the early church, especially to Apostle Paul. Be a Barnabas by supporting and encouraging people around you.
Try to edify them with encouraging words. Give them books or songs that have blessed your soul!
I decree and declare that you will be inspired with great ideas that will impact your world positively in Jesus mighty name!
