Praying for Our Leaders
“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.”
1 Timothy 2:1-2
Praying for those in Authority is an instruction, not an appeal or advice!
It is germane to pray regularly for our leaders who hold positions of trust in private and public sectors. It is the will of God for us to intercede for our leaders in government at all levels. It is good and acceptable activity in His sight. One way to stand in the gap on behalf of our country is to pray for our leaders. As everything rises or falls on the platform of leadership. A nation that is bereft of good leadership will continue to suffer poverty and underdevelopment.
According to the Word of God, if we want to lead a quiet and peaceable life, living a lifestyle of godliness and honesty, it’s imperative we pray for our leaders, especially our President, his ministers; governors and their commissioners. Prayer helps them to make right and godly decisions that will be for our benefit.
Now let’s pray for our leaders thus:
1. Father God, in the name of Jesus Christ, we thank you for our leaders at all levels.
1 Thessalonians 5:18
2. Father God, in the name of Jesus Christ, cause our leaders to lead us with godly fear, righteousness and justice.
Nehemiah 5:15
3. Father God, we pray that our leaders will not lead us and the nation astray or amiss in Jesus mighty name.
Isaiah 9:16
4. Father God, in the name of Jesus Christ, we pray that You may turn the hearts of our leaders to do right things.
Proverbs 21:1
5. Father God, in the name of Jesus, arise and flush out every wickedness from our political leaders and our government houses.
Proverbs 25:5
I decree and declare that we will reap the harvest of answers to our prayers in Jesus mighty name.
Yours sincerely,
