Knowing how to Avoid Fornication
“Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.”
1 Corinthians 6:18
What is fornication? Fornication is a sexual intercourse between people who are not married to each other. Sex is a beautiful gift from God, specifically specially designed for married folks. God created sex to promote procreation and bonding between husband and wife. Sex outside the marriage corridor is not the design or will of God. So it is a sin to engage in premarital or extramarital sex. The Bible says, “For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:”
1 Thessalonians 4:3
Are you struggling with sexual sin? You are not alone! But you can be different!
If you truly desire freedom from sexual immoralities, please do the following:
1. Embrace genuine Repentance!
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
1 John 1:9
You can stop fornication if you truly confess and repent! You can break the bonds of sexual sins. Yes, you can! Your true confession will move the heart and hand of God to forgive and cleanse you from all unrighteousness.
2. Flee youthful lusts!
“Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”
2 Timothy 2:22
The key to abstaining from sexual sin is to RUN! RUN! RUN!
Sexual temptation or seduction is everywhere, but you can decide to be different. Don’t forget Joseph ran from Portiphar’s seductive wife.
You can be a Joseph! Run!
3. Get married!
“Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.”
1 Corinthians 7:2
To avoid fornication, each man should have his own wife, and each woman should have her own husband. In other words, everyone should get married. The husband should fulfill his wife’s sexual needs, and the wife should fulfill her husband’s needs.
I decree and declare that you will be empowered by God to maintain purity and avoid fornication in Jesus mighty name.
