How to enjoy Divine Guidance
“And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.”
We only become like a watered garden and a spring of water if we allow God to guide and direct our paths in life. When we allow Him to guide us we are bound to command success more than those that guide themselves. Divine guidance is superior and better than when we are leading and guiding ourselves. God knows the way or path that brings maximum profit. Do you want to command better results or profits in life? Then allow God to guide you, as He is still in the business of guiding His children. But are you a child of God?
Why do we need divine guidance?
We need divine guidance because only God knows the right way for us.
The way we think is right for us may not be the right way at all. It could be a way of failure, defeat or even death. The Bible says, “There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”
When God is leading us in the way we should go, He ensures that we are unstoppable, as He goes before us to ensure all barriers are removed, all crooked paths are made straight. The Bible says, “I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:”
To be guided by God, we must be willing and prepared to submit ourselves to His leading. We must be willing and prepared to follow Him as obedient sheep. The Bible says, “And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.”
How does God guide us?
1. He guides us by His Word!
“And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.” Isaiah 30:21
The more of His Word you have, the more likely you are going to be led and guided by Him. I urge you to prioritize the word of God more than ever before! By all means, try as much as possible to read, study, meditate and memorize the word!
2. He guides us by His Spirit
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”
We can only enjoy His guidance when we resolve to partner with His Spirit. We must engage the ministry of the Holy Spirit to the fullest measure, if we want to enjoy divine guidance.
3. He guides us by wise counsel
“Hearken now unto my voice, I will give thee counsel, and God shall be with thee: Be thou for the people to God-ward, that thou mayest bring the causes unto God:”
God guides us via wise counsel or instructions from our parents, pastors, mentors and teachers.
Do you know that the counsel from Jethro to Moses was divinely inspired and orchestrated? Moses the servant of God did not denigrate or reject the counsel! Every wise counsel is divine! We owe ourselves the responsibility to humbly accept every wise counsel for our own good.
I decree and declare that you will take advantage of divine guidance available to you as a child of God in Jesus mighty name.
