Flying High like the Eagles
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
Isaiah 40:31
As we wait upon the Lord, we are strengthened and empowered to fly high like the eagles. Do you know that the eagle is a fascinating bird; known for its agility, power and ability to fly at high altitudes in the sky? The eagle flies where no other bird can dare fly. As we walk with the Lord, He energises us to fly high in life to heights that will amaze people. An eagle is great with great wings! The Bible says, “And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; A great eagle with great wings, longwinged, full of feathers, which had divers colours, came unto Lebanon, and took the highest branch of the cedar:”
Ezekiel 17:3
One amazing fact about eagles is that they are monogamous in nature; they have only one mate for life. A man who wants to fly high in life cannot afford the burden of polygamy or multiple sex partners!
Let’s consider 3 facts about the eagle:
1. Excellent Vision
God created the eagle with an excellent vision and concentration. For an eagle to catch its prey, the eagle has to focus on it with laser like intensity, and set out to get it. Eagles have a keen eyesight and could see from a great distance. To achieve our goals in life, we must become people of Vision and Focus. We must learn to focus on one thing at a time, and give it our effort, time and energy. That way, we can achieve our goals.
2. Excellent Freshness
God designed and fabricated eagles to feed on fresh meals! Eagles don’t eat dead animals. To fly high in life, we must embrace freshness. We must learn to be current. We cannot afford to remain “analogue” when the world has gone digital. As a minister, I crave for fresh oil regularly, as old oil or anointing will not suffice. The Bible says, “But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.”
Psalm 92:10
Let’s refuse to remain status quo maintainers! We must think fresh and act fresh. Life is dynamic!
3. Excellent risk takers
God designed and made eagles to love the storm! They are not afraid or intimidated by the storm like other birds. As eagles get excited when storm clouds gather, every high flyer must be willing and prepared to face the storms of life excitedly. We must see every challenge as a ladder for our next level promotion or enthronement. Do you know that it is the storm that lifts the eagle above the clouds? Above the clouds, the eagle just spreads her wings and become stronger. To fly high like the eagles, we must resolve to become risk takers! We must get excited, not intimidated, about the storms of life. Don’t forget challenges bring opportunities! And opportunities catapult you to your colourful destiny!
I decree and declare that you will be empowered by God to fly high in life in Jesus mighty name!
Yours sincerely,
