Enjoying God’s Preservation
“And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.”
2 Timothy 4:18
What is preservation?
Preservation is about being kept safe from harm or injury. It is about being protected and kept alive.
In these days of evil work, devilish machinations and unusual demonic operations, we sure need His preservation. My beloved, if God does not deliver and preserve us from every evil work we will be doomed! The devil and his cohorts are terribly angry, and they are out seeking people to kill and destroy, if they have the slightest opportunity. But they will fail, as our God remains our indefatigable Defender and Preserver. He is the One who preserves our going out and our coming in! The Bible says,
“The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore. Psalm
More than ever before, we must consciously and concertedly trust Him to preserve us and keep us alive to fulfil His purpose for our lives.
We must trust Him to preserve us from evil and violent men out there!
Now, how do we enjoy God’s preservation?
We enjoy His preservation by:
1. Praying for Preservation
“Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man; Which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war.”
David enjoyed God’s preservation because he prayed for it constantly.
To enjoy His preservation, we have to humbly and constantly ask for it. Before you step out of your house, deliberately place a demand for His preservation.
2. Loving God
“The LORD preserveth all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy.”
God has a special preservation package for those that love Him.
David was a lover of God, no wonder he enjoyed His preservation. Loving God is not an option! It is for our own good to love God! Preservation is the reward for loving God!
3. Engaging the ministry of Prophets
“And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved.”
Men of God are agents of your preservation. God designed and purposed to use them to ensure your total preservation. Anytime God wants to deliver His people, He raises an agent – prophet! For instance, God empowered and used Moses to deliver His people from wicked Egyptians. Before the emergence of Moses, God had raised Joseph as an agent of preservation. Joseph himself affirmed thus:
“And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance.”
Jesus Christ is the greatest Agent of God’s preservation! We are preserved in Him! The Bible says, “Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:”
I decree and declare that you will continually enjoy God’s preservation in Jesus mighty name!
