3 Benefits of Good Friday
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.”
It is a divine mystery to bring something “Good” out of the death of the Son of God! In Christian tradition, Good Friday is a season in which Christians all over the world do remember and commemorate the day, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, willingly suffered and died by crucifixion as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. The Bible says, “For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”
1 Corinthians 15:3-4
Without the suffering and death, there would not have been an Easter. Easter is a clear validation of God’s power over death. And without an Easter, there would be no hope for our own future resurrection. The Bible says, “For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:”
Looking at it from the surface level, there is nothing good about a day that Jesus Christ was flogged, ordered and forced to carry the cross on which He would be crucified and then put to death.
Let’s consider 3 benefits of this horrendous day called “Good Friday”:
1. Healing for us all
“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”
One outstanding benefit of Good Friday is the healing that comes via the stripes of Jesus Christ. Prophet Isaiah had prophesied long a ago that the Messiah was going to suffer great humiliation but that through His stripes we shall experience healing.
Are you seek in your body? You can take delivery of your healing right now! In faith, say: “I’m healed by the stripes of Jesus Christ on the CROSS of Calvary”!
2. Forgiveness for us all
“And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.” Hebrews 9:22
Good Friday procures forgiveness for us all. The wrath of God against sin had to be poured out on Jesus, the perfect sacrificial lamb (substitute) in order for forgiveness and salvation to be poured out to humanity. We are justified freely by God’s grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. Our redemption is established by our faith in the Blood of Jesus Christ.
3. Sacrificial Love for us all!
“For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.”
2 Corinthians 5:14-15
Jesus Christ willingly laid down His life to demonstrate His extreme love for us. The Bible says, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
I decree and declare that you will take delivery of the benefits of Good Friday in Jesus mighty name.
Happy Good Friday!
